Vienna popular among German, Russian and Romanian tourists

viennaVienna as a holiday destination is becoming more and more popular among foreign tourists.

The last month was even a record in over night stays. Vienna had so many tourists like never before in history.

Almost 1,1 million over night stays in one month is a quite an impressing result indeed. One of the reasons of such numbers are tourists from Germany, Russia, and Romania.

Visitors from those countries even register double digit rates of growth. But also the stream of visitors from Italy, Britain, Switzerland and France is increasing.

Overnight stays from January to July 2008, compared with the ones one year before, show an increase of unbelievable 8,4 percent! The average occupancy rate of Viennese hotels is 63,7 percent.


Austria thinks about “mushroom police”
