Austrias foreign minister Spindelegger is not happy about the result. He declared in a press release that he feels a deep sorrow about the deficits during the election process.

Spindelegger also complains about the massive and forceful impact against demonstrators. “I won’t accept that”, he told. The Austrian foreign minister explained that freedom of assembly and freedom of expression are the basic values of an open society. Those terms are very important if Minsk wants better relations with the European Union, he said.

With such a behaviour the government in Minsk made one step away from the European Union, said Spindelegger. Spindelegger now demands freedom for all arrested demonstrators and an investigation about the violence on the streets. The Austrian foreign minister claimed that there is no purpose for an isolation of Belarus, but the execution of our ideas and demands in Belarus would improve our relationship.

Austrias minister of defence, Norbert Darabos (Socialdemocrats), plans massive savings in the Austrian army. First he wants to sell several hundred tanks, then he wants to close many offices in Vienna, and also the number of soldiers should be drastically reduced.

The opposition is shocked and upset. Austrias Broadcasting Corporation “ORF” reports that such an army would only exist on the paper, and asks if this should be the plan of our minister of defence. Even the pacifist Greens can’t understand such ideas. The green spokesman for security, Peter Pilz, confirms that such an army would be something like a “paper army”.

The Freedom party thinks that Darabos just wants to destroy the Austrian army. The Orange party also known as “BZÖ” talks about a “deaccession of Austrias family silver.”

The security spokesman of the Greens explains that Darabos seems to be a second “Baron Munchhausen”. Darabos replies he just sees the need to save about 30 million Euro in times of the economic crisis. There are also rumours that Darabos wants to close several more barracks. Even the Radetzky Kaserne should be affected. It’s also told that some of the tanks in the Austrian army are that old, they would resolve itself.

The Socialdemocrat party whip Rudolf Schicker started a new episode of the bitter altercations between Socialdemocrats and Freedom party.

He has moved the Freedom party close to Nationalsocialism, and blamed them vicariously for the establishment of concetration camps during the second world war. “A scandal”, answered the party whip of Viennas Freedom party Johann Gudenus. Gudenus explained that the statements of the Socialdemocrat are not only an “outrageous absurdity”, but also an “impertinent misrepresentation”. The Freedom party expects a prompt excuse, confirmed Gudenus. The Freedom party man continued that Schickers statement is an insult against Austrias parliamentarism and a sign of foolishness coupled with a lack of knowledge. Good requirements for a continued failure of the Socialdemocrats in Vienna, thinks Gudenus.

A provincial politican of the Socialdemocrats from Upper Austria wanted to let the world know that he thinks a certain politican of the Freedom party is a “right-wing extremist”.

He labeled him that way during a press conference. The critical Socialdemocrat is the provincial party leader of Upper Austria. The affected Freedom party man is the chairman of Upper Austrias Freedom party. His first statement was that his Socialdemocrat enemy is fit for retirement. The chairman of Upper Austrias Freedom party confirmed that he does not feel like a right-wing extremist. He only wants to support the constitutional state.

Reason of the conflict was the new episode of the Albanian family who is returning back to Austria. The Freedom party man called their legal return a “reward for asylum abuse.” The Socialdemocrat replied critics against this family is like “burping”.

This new conflict between Socialdemocrats and Freedom party is another proof that both parties really hate eachother. It’s seems quite unrealistic at the moment that there will be a coalition between both parties somewhere in a state parliament. Althought Freedom party leader Heinz Chrisitian Strache demanded a coalition between Socialdemocrats and his Freedom party in Vienna. But the Socialdemocrats refused impassioned.

Austrian medias are full of stories about the Albanian family Zogaj again these days. They are going to return back to Austria in a few days.

The Zogaj family moved to Austria as illegal immigrants and stayed there several years. One girl of the family, Arigona, tried to avoid a deportation, hid on a secret place, and sent dramatic video messages to Austrian medias. She became a media star that way and was allowed to stay in Austria with her mother three years longer as the rest of the family.

This summer Arigona and her mother with two other siblings decided to return to Albania by their own choice. It was the key to a legal immigration some months later. Now Austrian authorities confirmed the entry permit of the mother and three of her children (Albin 11 years old, Albona 10 years old, and Arigona who is now 18 years old).

Upper Austrias Socialdemocrat Josef Ackerl told that he was never happy with the menacing deportation of the family. He said that a long term solution must be found now. The Freedom party has a different opinion and sees a failure of Austrias immigration policy. “The Zogaj family are known as economic refugees and phoney asylum seekers”, said Freedom parties politican Manfred Haimbuchner in a very critical way.

The Green party is very enthusiastic about the return of the Zogajs. “Welcome back home”, was the first message of the Green politican Rudi Anschober. “Finally the long story of fear and uncertainty found its end”, he confirmed. Even the Orange party called “BZÖ” has an opinion in this case. BZÖ general secretary Christian Ebner said that the return of the Zogaj family was a biased trial. “The asylum law in Austria is based on total caprice”, he told.

Local politicans rack their brains if the family should leave Austria and go back to Mongolia or not. Angry reactions from the Socialdemocrats caused the latest idea of Uwe Scheuch, a former politican of the Orange party (BZÖ) and currently in the new created political force called “The free ones in Carinthia (FPK)”.

Scheuch said that the father should go back to Mongolia, if he is a criminal, and his children should stay in Austria and live with guest families. The mother died in a car crash some time ago.

The Socialdemocrats of Carinthia can’t accept such a suggestion. “Everybody who lives longer than 5 years in Carinthia should be allowed to stay. No matter who he is or what he did”, is the message of the Socialdemocrats. All Carinthian politicans agree that the right of residence for the family would be a very important sign for the humanitarian intentions of Carinthia. Even minister president Dörfler wants the whole family to stay in his province.

Viennas Socialdemocrats have to search for a coaltion partner after the massive loss of votes in the last election. Now it seems if the Green party will be the new partner. Viennas Socialdemocrat mayor Michael Häupl has officially started coalition negotiations with the Green party.

Political observers comment the new situation in Vienna as “no surprise”. The Peoples party is too shattered to be a stable coalition partner, and the Freedom party has to little similarities in the political views for a cooperation with the Socialdemocrats. Newspapers report that Freedom party leader Heinz Christian Strache is not happy about it. He wanted to have a cooperation with the Socialdemocrats. There are no big comments from the Peoples party. They might be busy enough with themselfes.

The only winner was HC Straches Freedom party. The Freedom party was able to win more than 12 percent and become Viennas strongest force behind the Socialdemocrats. All other parties lost votes: Socialdemocrats, Peoples party, Green party. For the Peoples party it was a huge disaster. Only 13,23 percent means an historical trough. The prime candidate of the Peoples party, Christine Marek, pulled a wry face after the first computer prediction. She has expected a much better result.

The Socialdemocrats lost their absolute majority and have to search for a coalition partner now. Many experts believe it will be the Peoples party. But also the Greens have chances to rule Vienna with the Socialdemocrats. Only the Freedom party is excluded in the game. Nobody wants to cooperate with Strache and his friends. So his rather great success was like a Pyrrhic victory.

The result:
1st Socialdemocrats (44,13 percent)
2nd Freedom party (27,06 percent)
3rd Peoples party (13,23 percent)
4th Greens (12,23 percent)
5th Orange party BZÖ (1,4 percent)
6th Communist party 1,15 percent)
7th Liberals (0,68 percent)

Austrias public prosecution department against bribery and corruption is an electoral fraud with huge dimension on the scent. Voting cards of persons were found which concerned voters never had requested.

Austrias magazine “News” reports that the dimensions of the electoral fraud in the state election of the federal state Burgenland are much bigger as feared. The final result of the election was confirmed on the 30th May and can’t be changed anymore.

Affected politicans act quite surprised about the latest uncoverings. One politican of the Peoples party said that “he can’t believe that.” Now extensive determinations were initiated. The obviously victim in this case is the Freedom party. Politicans of the Freedom party wants to have a new election with much more monitoring.

Strache has also accept the injunction that he is not allowed anymore to spread the rumour the Socialdemocrats would act as violent stone-throwing demonstrators against dissidents. “The court has noticed that the Socialdemocrats have a pristine white and clean slate”, explained a member of Viennas Socialdemocrats.

The Freedom party has not received the interim injunction yet. Freedom parties secretary Hans Jörg Jenewein said that an interim injunction is not an adjudgment. Strache was talking about “Red Nazis” several times in newspaper interviews. Austrias daily newspaper “Kleine Zeitung” confirmed that Strache also said during a pre-election party in Styrias town of Kapfenberg: “The only Nazis in Austria are the red Nazis.” Now he has to stop that.
