A certain district of Carinthias capital Klagenfurt suffers from sloppy postmen. Since 6 months the amount of missing or wrong delivered letters and parcels takes on a dramatic scale. Complaints are ignored. Now a signature campaign should improve the situation and remind postmen to fulfil their duty in an appropriate way.

It was a car mechanic who started the signature campaign. He was not able to bear such a disastrous postal delivery anymore. “My patience snapped”, was the explanation about his new field of activity to the medias. He explains: “It’s not possible anymore to talk about a normal post delivery. Either there is no delivery or a wrong delivery.” The postmen don’t want to accept the critics. Following reasons were mentioned as apology: “Sick leaves, new employees without local knowledge, and no or wrong labeled mailboxes of the angry receivers.”

A hungry lorry driver from Slovenia wanted to cook a meal while he was driving on the motorway. When he tried to overtake another lorry and continued cooking his meal, it happend. He crashed and lost his loaded builders’ hut.

The Slovenian had luck. Nobody was injured. The motorway “A9″ in the area of Salzburg had to be closed for one hour.

A Tirolean village of 4.000 inhabitants wants to have its own brothel. In the last conference the local council voted for the building of such an establishment. The brothel should be located on the border of the village centre in the premises of a former restaurant.

The assessment of demand showed a negative result, but that did not impress the local politicans. The secret polling ended with 10 yes-votes and 7 no-votes. It seeems the brothel should also substitute the closed restaurant and offer an “erotic escort service.” Now provincial authorities have to check the assessment of demand. If everything is okay, there will be a rededication and the 4.000 inhabitant village can celebrate the new facility soon.

But who should visit the brothel? The mayor has no idea. Locals and holidaymakers won’t use it, he said. But there is already a name: “White Cat.”

Anger about a public toilet in a Viennese park. The toilet is closed since more than 10 years. Reason: the facility is under monumental protection and a redevelopment would cost 300.000 Euro. Too much for the financial stricken city of Vienna.

But visitors of the park can’t understand that. They want to have a toilet if they are in need to use one. But the Antiquities and Monuments Office in Vienna don’t want to understand such a desire. It’s not allowed to build a new toilet in the park. The old one must be refurbished. “It’s part of the Viennese charme to see old toilets”, explains the spokesman of the Antiquities and Monuments Office.

A soon end of the dispute is not in sight. The park called “Türkenschanzpark” in the district of Währing will probably celebrate its 175 years anniversary in two years without a running toilet.

A very cruel fate in the province of Salzburg. A bride dies several hours after her wedding in a car crash. The bride groom, his parents, and the driver of the other car survived. Reason of the crash: the 45-year-old father of the bride groom has fallen asleep at the wheel, and crashed into a another car from the opposite direction.

The 22-year-old bride was still alive when the rescue forces found her on the crash site. She died later in the hospital of Zell am See. None of the drivers was drunk. The bride groom, who was sitting next to her, survived the crash with not even one single injury.

A very rare case of negligence towards a husband happened in Upper Austrias motorway rest area of Seewalchen. A young German wife abandoned her husband there, and continued her trip by car with her daughter and her dog. Police found the unlucky man sleeping on the motorway embankment.

The young lady was found by the police on another motorway rest area , and received her husband back. But she was not interested to continue the trip with him. She gave him 150 Euro for the way home. Police brought the poor man to the next railway station. He took the next train to Germany. His wife continued her trip to Slovakia.

The trial against Josef Fritzl was one of the biggest in Austrian history. Fritzls hometown Amstetten is quite glad about it that the media attention declined. But one thing is still there. The house of Josef Fritzl, and the cellar of his incredible crime. It should be sold, but it’s not possible to find a buyer.

The Lower Austrian district of Gänserndorf was the scene of a tragical incident. A 79 year-old woman was killed by her two rottweilers. The rottweilers were on duty as watch dogs.

The reason for the deadly attack is not clear. There was only one single incident in 2006. Usually the two dogs were quite calm and obedient. The victim was found by a 30-year-old woman who wanted to feed the rottweilers. She has seen the dead woman laying bathed in blood in her garden.

The 79-year-old woman was running a roofer enterprise with her 55-year-old son. Yesterday between 6:00pm and 7:00pm happened the infelicity, told the police. The guilty dogs were already punished with a lethal injection.

An emotional card game in a pub in the center of the province of Lower Austria caused two dead persons this week. A 76-year-old man knocked down his 67-year-old friend with a chair. When the victim died because of his injuries, the 76-year-old decided to hang himself.

Reason of the disagreement was the question if the next drink should be beer or wine, and who should pay the last glass of wine with the price of 1,20 Euro. The victim sustained a basal skull fracture and died in the hospital. When the 76-year-old man heard that, he decided to end his days. Both men were playing cards since 20 years on a regular basis.

Some people demand to exclude Austria Salzburg from the tournament in the future. The organizer don’t want to hear that. “We need Austria Salzburg like all the other clubs for our tournament”, explains chief organizer Fritz Pammer from the club called “UFC Salzburg”.

But a problem with such a declaration would be the situation if all the other clubs are not interested anymore to play a tournament with Austria Salzburg. “Then we have to think about it”, says Mr. Pammer.

Austria Salzburgs manager Gerhard Stöger is very sorry about occurrences, but underlines that nobody was hurt. He also declared that Austria Salzburg could quit a participation for next years tournament.
