An unusual couple had to stand trial yesterday in the Lower Austrian court of Wiener Neustadt.

The woman is 42 years old. Her partner only 14 years. They had sex when the boy was only 13 years old. This is not allowed in Austria. The woman received a 22 months jail term on probation. The 42-year-old woman, a professional handball coach, explained that there is a true love between her and him. She accepted the punishment and left the court hand in hand with her now 14-year-old boyfriend. The relationship and the sexual intercourse started several months too early. The 14-year-old boy is now allowed to have a 42-year-old girlfriend, and enjoy sex with her. Now the law has no problem anymore with this kind of relationship.

A woman found herself in court because she has attacked her husband with a knife. The reason is quite unusual. She wanted to taste something of the Spanish dish “paella” from the husband.

The husband was very hungry himself and so he defended his paella like a hero. First with fists, then he tried to choke his hungry wife. But at the end his wife was stronger. She overpowered her husband and hit him several times with a knife. Afterwards he was unfit for action, and the hungry woman was able to taste something from his paella.

The man survived the knife attack. Now the woman has to expect a life imprisonment because of attempted murder. Such a tragedy just because of a simple Spanish dish in Lower Austria.

When the owner of the car wanted to bring the beer crate to the police station, the beer loving policeman was not on duty. A colleague took the beers and reported the incident to his superior. Yesterday the policeman was sentenced to a financial penalty of 7.200 Euro. It’s possible that his “beer bribery” has also serious consequences on his further professional path. A disciplinary procedure is on its way.

One year ago a 63-year-old hotel owner from Tirol raped a 17-year-old chamber maid. Yesterday he was sentenced to 12 months prison. In his defence strategy he declared that he was seduced by the young girl. The judge did not believe him and replied it’s quite cynical to claim seduction for the reason of his despicable deed.

This was already the second trial in this case. In the first trial he received only a financial penalty of 18.000 Euro. Too much for the hotel owner. He wanted to pay less and decided to appeal. This was another bad decision. Now he has to go to prison for 12 months instead of paying a lower financial penalty.

The case was revealed and came to public in autumn 2008. A 56-year-old man was working for the farmer since 30 years without salary and medical treatment.

For his good nature to work for free and only for some food he was also beaten and insulted by his employer. A quite outlandish way to show gratitude.

But not even daily food was for sure. A witness confirmed that the 56-year-old victim had to beg on his knees for food and something to drink almost every third day infront of the kitchen window. Because of the many mistreatments he also lost the hearing on one ear.

The accused farmer was not cooperative and denied the testimony at all points. But still the judge was in a mild mood. No prison for all the crimes. Only 18 months on probation.

A 22-year-old man from Vorarlbergs metropolis of Lustenau was sentenced to an imprisonment of 2 1/2 years because he has captured a wallet with 3 Euro inside.

The height of the loot was irrelevant for the court. The offender commited his misdeed with a lot of violence. Victim was a 53-year-old man. The law range of sentences was 10 years prison. The 22-year-old wanted to have thinking time. The verdict is not legally binding.

Three female employees of a petrol station were sentenced to fines because they ate too much meat loaf during work. The tenant of the petrol station also sold snacks to his customers. These include meat loaf.

The employees were such hungry young ladies that they could not resist and ate the tasteful delicacy in great quantities instead of selling it to the customers. At the end a shortage of 72 kilo was noticeable.

The loss amount 40.000 Euro. All three ladies were punished through fines. One has to pay 960 Euro and 1.300 Euro compensation. The two others 400 and 480 Euro.

Yesterday the leading brain of a Bulgarian money faker gang was sentencted to an imprisonment of 8 years. “The Euro is a holy currency”, was the statement of the court in relation to the scale of the punishment.

The convicted criminal was the boss of a well organized 18-headed team of money fakers. The bad money was imported from Bulgaria and distributed from Austria into the whole area of the European Union. The verdict is already valid.

The man is also quite famous in Bulgaria. He was already three years in a Bulgarian prison because he ordered 1.500 washing machines without paying them. Maybe he knew that the washing machines seller won’t accept his Euro notes.

The defending lawyer was very happy about this decision and explained that it was correct not to proclaim a punishment. “The 17-year-old schoolgirl had no need for protection”, he confirmed. The defending lawyer elucidated that the teacher has the right of a private area of life. The exchange of endearment happened not in school, but in the private lifes of the teacher and the schoolgirl.

The 58-year-old Latin teacher had, among other things, fun with his 17-year-old schoolgirl in the bathtub, was reported in Austrian medias. They also visited nudist beaches together. After the case was released to the public, the teacher was suspended from school by the city schools inspector. Now after his verdict of not guilty, he is allowed to work as a teacher again.

A public prosecutor of the female persuasion has to face an judical inquiry against herself. She was rioting in drunk condition inside a Viennese discotheque. She also gave out slaps in faces, kicked waiters with fists and feet, and cantillated racist chants.

The impulsive public prosecutor of the female persuasion is still in office until the decision is made if she is allowed to stay, or if she has to quit her job.

The proceedings in this case had to be delegated to another prosecution. Reason: conflict of interest. In several weeks it will turn out if there is going to be an impeachment or not.
