Eva Glawischnig: “Barbara Rosenkranz is a disgrace for Austria!”
The leader of the Green party in Austria Eva Glawischnig proclaimed in Austrian TV that the candidate for the presidential election Barbara Rosenkranz “is a disgrace for Austria.” Glawischnig confirmed that she thinks the resignation of her candidateship would be the best for all.
Glawischnig also told whom she is going to vote for the Austrian president on the 25th April. It will be the acting president Heinz Fischer from the Socialdemocrats. The leader of the Greens said that “he has done his job quite properly.”
The disputatious woman who originally comes from Carinthia also criticised some politicans of the Socialdemocrats. One Socialdemocrat from the province of Burgenland made “embarrassing statements”. The other one from Styria “disgraceful utterances”. Glawischnig is not amused either that some Socialdemocrats “pick old ideas from Jörg Haider (reduction of state parliaments).”
Even the Peoples party receives some angry words from Glawischnig. “The tax plans of the Finance Minister from the Peoples party are not suitable for stuffing holes of the budget”, she said and confirmed that “taxes on wealth should be increased.”
