Bad Ischl: wake of devastation in town centre
The night from Saturday to Sunday was the scene of violence and devastation in Upper Austrias popular holiday destination Bad Ischl. The town centre was completely devastated.
Parked cars were damaged, trash bins and road signs were ripped from its moorings and thrown around. It seems those offenders were quite angry during that night because the destructive frenzy was very massive and pronounced. The local online magazine “Im Salzkammergut” also reports about broken street lighting, damaged houses and garden fences, was well as twisted driveway bars, shattered dustbins, and pulled over park benches.
Even water pipes were not secure from those angry persons. They were opened from streets and walls and destroyed in a very savage way. The city centre was also full of garden chairs which were stolen and thrown around. The general damages are tremendous. Now the police must find those unscrupulous offenders. The inquires already started. It’s strange that nobody was able to notice the riots. The police has no idea about the culprits and seems to be in the dark.
