Secondary school headmaster worries about kissing pupils

kissThe headmaster of a secondary school in the province of Upper Austria has a problem. His nonaged pupils are hungry for love. They can’t stop kissing.

Already all Austrian medias report about the certain case of a school in the little Upper Austrian village called “Gunskirchen”. Pupils are kissing eachother almost all the time. This is a problem for the teachers who want to proceed with the curriculum.

Now the headmaster imposed an official kiss prohibition, and wrote a letter to the parents. Parents should take responsibility and impact on their children to stop kissing.

The answers of the parents were mainly negative. Reactions like “hopeless conservative”, “tempest in a teapot”, “we are living in the 21th century”, or the unmistakably clarification that “children are allowed to kiss eachother”, were the consequences of this letter.

But the headmaster does not even think to cancel the kiss prohibition. “School is for learning. Not for kissing”, was the spontaneous answer to the angry parents. A Sodom and Gomorrah of biblical proportions is feared. The headmaster claims some pupils who did not receive any kisses were trying to get their kisses by force.

Upper Austrias federal schools inspector supports the idea of the headmaster. He says that the school is also the place of upbringing. “If parents are overchallenged with their parenting, the school is here to support them”, he confirmes.

I feel this is a very positive action taken by the school Principle. In my opinion, there is no harm basically in kissing, kissing is not the priority of students though, they ARE at school for learning and upbringing…….and if their thoughts are occupied with coupling and kissing, then the Principles decision is justified. I personally feel the parents should thank him/her for making them aware of what their children are upto outside home. Respect to the Principal and the authorities who care so much for the future of these children to try to make a change!
