Verdict of guilty for Peter Westenthaler
Still bad luck for BZÖ (the Orange ones) politican Peter Westenthaler.
Yesterday he was sentenced because of a wrong witness report to 9 months prison on probation.
The judge Peter Liebtreu explained his decision because of clear proofs of evidence. The sentence is not legally binding. Westenthalers defending lawyer promised a full notice of appeal.
Peter Westenthaler was quite upset after the trial. He told that the Austrian justice system is controlled by his political opponents. “They are trying to kill and ruin my existance”, he explained to journalists.
Also BZÖ party fellow and minister president of Carinthia Jörg Haider was not very happy about the decision of the judge. In a TV interview he said that the judge has the wrong surname. His present surname “Liebtreu” (faithful to love) should be changed into “Hassvoll” (full of hate).
The first consequences for Peter Westenthaler because of such a disaster are already noticeable. He won’t be allowed to go into the next election as prime candidate.
