If there was any knowledge on the daughters part of the mothers involvment perhaps she has forgiven her mother due to her own first hand experience of the terror and pain that he was capable of inflicting, although we have no record of brutality towards the mother only that of the children. Then i pondered how she was kept alive during his long stints away - i doubt that the authorites will delve too deeply from all the history to the present - the motto seems to be - "ignorance is bliss."
