Viennese policemen want prisoners to clean their windows
The police of Vienna is upset about dirty windows in their offices.
Now they have found the right idea to solve the problem. Prisoners should care about clean windows on their police stations.
The policemen are quite enthusiastic about their idea. They could save time and money, and the prisoners won’t be bored. “Sweating instead of sitting”, is the catchy slogan of the Viennese vice police president for the prisoners of Vienna.
The police union is not so excited about the idea. “You need extra staff to control and observe the prisoners. This is quite expensive. It’s cheaper to keep them in their prisons, and employ a professional cleaning service for the dirty windows”, says one spokesman.
