Poisened chocolates for Lower Austrian mayor

The mayor of the little Lower Austrian of Spitz an der Donau was poisened with chocolates which were filled with strychnine.
The politican found a box with those chocolates on his car with the message “You are something special to me”.
When he tried one of the chocolates he broke down and was brought to hospital. At the moment he is in artificial deep sleep.
This story could be one of those crime series on TV. The police has absolutly no trace or clue. The mayor, who is married and has two children, is very popular and has no enemies.
The poisened chocolate box is the only pointer. The police has to check every single fibre of it.
