New Carinthian football club is bankrupt and about to fold
The new football club in Carinthia called “SK Austria Kärnten” is an artificial project of Carinthias minister president Jörg Haider.
The club was founded this year by politicans of Carinthias leading party BZÖ, and bought the license to play in Austrias Premiere League from FC Superfund in Upper Austria, who quit its existance in professional football.
SK Austria Kärnten took over almost all players of FC Superfund, and moved in the new football stadium for the Euro 2008 to Klagenfurt.
At the moment the club is on the last place. The downswing in sporting terms is paired with a lack of interest of the Carinthian football fans. The last home matches were played with an attendance of some view thousands, in a stadium with more than 30.000 seats.
The president of the football club is crying for help to receive a lot of money. The tax payer should receive the bill.
