Less and less babies in Austria
The tendency of the past years continues.
Also this year the numbers of births in Austria are decreasing. According to the statistics, 7.001 babies were born in October. This means 193 less than last year.
There was a decrease of 1.173 babies from January to October. The amount of babies who where born to an unmarried mother increased from 37 to 38,1 percent.
The only exception in the whole birth statistics is the federal state of Burgenland. Their births increased by 2 percent.
The strongest decrease in births can be seen in the federal state of Carinthia: 4,3 percent less babies.
The strongest decreases can be also seen in following provinces: Lower Austria and Vorarlberg (both 3,7 percent less), Tirol (2,3 percent), Upper Austria (1,6), Salzburg (1,4) and Steiermark (0,8).
