Christina Stürmer sings Football Euro 2008 song
After the disastrous 0:2 defeat of Austrias football team yesterday evening against Chile, the Austrian football federation (ÖFB) had other important things to worry about.
Who will sing the official song for the Football Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland, was the main issue for the Austrian football society in the past days.
Now the winner is uncovered. It’s the 25-year-old rock’n roll singer from Upper Austria Christina Stürmer.
Rumours say the Austrian football team was excited about the nomination of the young lady with the harsh voice. Austrias captain Martin Hiden even said to journalists: “It was not possible to choose a better singer than Christina”.
Another candidate for the official Football Euro song was also Austrias popmusic legend Reinhard Fendrich. Heavy drug problems in his near past reduced the chance for that kind of job.
