Government of Vienna wants immigrants as policemen
A new campaign of government and police in Vienna wants to bring at least one immigrant in every Viennese police station.
The Austrian citizenship for the new policemen is essential condition, but foreign origin preferred.
“Multicultural origin should become an important criterion for being a policeman in Vienna”, says the major police general. “Immigrants will receive additional points within the selection examination”, he confirms.
An information campaign is planned for the next months. Immigrants should be motivated to become policemen in Vienna. “The police should have and use multicultural competence”, says the Socialdemocratic councilwoman of Vienna.
