Day of the Open Door in Lower Austrian hospitals
St. Pölten. Approximately 70,000 persons visited hospitals of Lower Austria on the Open-Door-Day last year. Also this year on the 3rd of March, citizens of the province have a possibility to get acquainted with the achievements and the level of the medical provision in the hospitals.
According to the governor of the province Dr. Erwin Pröll, the Lower Austria possesses today a powerful and efficient hospital structure.
The federal government takes the responsibility for 24 from all 27 hospitals of Lower Austria.From a total of 15,000 medical service personnel employed in the hospitals of the province, approximately 2,000 are physicians. About 116,000 operations are carried out annually there.
The initiative “Day of the Open Door” will be also supported by the Physicians’ Chamber of Lower Austria.
