Austrian beer: most breweries per head in Austria

In comparison with other European nations, Austria is the country with the most breweries per inhabitant. Danmark is on the second place, Germany third.
The Danish tourism center in Germany has made the investigation about the European beer nations, and published the result yesterday.
The ranking: 1. Austria, 2. Danmark, 3. Germany, 4. Sweden, 5. Norway, 6. Finland, 7. Ireland, 8. Italy. It’s strange that famous beer nations like Czech Republic and Belgium are not included in the ranking.
There 56.860 inhabitants per brewery in Austria. In Danmark, 62.400, and Germany 77.000. Sweden 180.000, Norway 184.800, Finland 333.333, Ireland 528.571 and Italy 3,64 Mio.
Every Austrian drinks 109 litres beer in one year. Beer is economically important in Austria.
