Austria is the gate for the Iran to the European Union
The president of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce Khamoushi, will meet the president of the Austrian Chamber Christoph Leitl today.
Before the meeting Khamoushi emphasized that Iran is interested in a good and stable relation with the European Union, and Austria should be the gate for it. The Austrian Chamber president said: “Especially in political difficult times, the part of the economy is very important, because the economy is able to make those connection which the politics is not able to.”
Iran is one of the most important trading partners for Austria in the Middle East. The exports to Iran have a volume of 232 Mio EUR. Only more goods were exported to Saudi Arabia (338 Mio EUR) and U.A.E. (247 Mio EUR). Christoph Leitl sees an enormous potential for Austrian enterprises especially in the infrastructure sector of the Iran, because Iran has a huge backlog demand there.
