The famous hotel and restaurant Stanglwirt in the Tyrolean village of Going was reported to the police by Animal rights activists, because the aquarium for the sharks is too small.

There are two specific cases which were reported to the police by the Austrian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In the relaxing room of the sauna area, blacktip reef sharks are kept in a too small aquarium. But also the rabbits in the petting zoo of the hotel suffer under a massive space problem.

Roman Kopfer Austrian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals: “Based on heaped notifications about those cases, we had to do something.”

Stanglwirt owner Balthasar Hauser understands the concerns of the Animal rights activists. He promised to build a new and bigger aquarium soon, but he has no understanding for the complaint about the rabbits.
