Job centre Zell am See: no manpower for winter season

zell am seeThe job centre Zell am See fears a supply shortfall of manpower for the coming winter season in the Salzburg region of Pinzgau.

The reduction of foreign workers from none EU-countries can cause to problems for hotel operators. At the moment they are searching for employees for the winter season, but it’s very hard to find dishwashers, cleaning ladies and waiters.

There 1.800 free jobs but only 83 persons from Austria who are searching for a job. Among the 1.800 free jobs there are 305 jobs for cooks and 450 for waiters.

Especially people from Czech Republic and Slovakia are interested to work in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg. As they are from countries of the European Union their job applications are running through a preferential treatment. The situation for applicants from Bosnia, Croatia or Serbia is much more difficult. Those countries are not members of the European Union.
