Austria escaped football disaster
68. minute: Mario Frick scores the 1:0 lead for Liechtenstein. Austria seemed to be in football hell again, like 16 years ago when they lost the first match against the unknown Faroe Islands.
But the goalkeeper of Liechtenstein had pity with the Austrians. Two mistakes made it possible that Austria could turn the match and win 2:1.
In spite of the fact that Liechtenstein was the better team over the whole 90 minutes, the Austrian team coach Josef Hickersberger was very satisfied with his players. But with such poor performance of his team, the amount of his critics won’t decrease.
