Protest to remember freedom of worship in Austria
The artist group “TresViri” wanted to remember the freedom of worship in Austria, and fixed symbols of world religions on the cross on the summit of the Schöckl mountain, close to Styrias capital Graz.
Hikers noticed four wooden plates an the strings of the summit cross. There were Islamic, Buddhist, Hinduist and Jewish symbols painted on the plates. Police removed them immediate. The artist group “TresViri” confessed itself to the campaign by e-mail.
In the confessor e-mail the group told they are not happy about the leading candidate of the BZÖ Peter Westenthaler. Westenthaler critizised the idea to install Islamic symbols on the top of Austrias mountains. The group thinks Austria should be openminded to other relgions, and allow symbols of other religions on Austrias mountains.
